Rosh Hashanah Table Design
New Year's Eve is a wonderful opportunity to turn over a new leaf and bring into our lives all that we wish for ourselves and those around us. Designing the holiday table in a way that suits us allows, in a very symbolic way, to demonstrate our intentions and aspirations with a joyful, communicative, relaxed, and elegant start to the New Year.
We have gathered some tips for designing your holiday table:
Tablecloth
It is recommended to combine tablecloths with different characters and textures, which together create an interesting and unique composition.
Vases
Choosing a low vase with low-growing plants allows for communication among all those seated at the table.
Candles
Placing candles on the table creates a festive atmosphere and spreads good light and energy.
Holiday Symbols
Pomegranate, sweet challah, and a bowl of apples are served in their original form - creating a natural and effortless look.
Tray for Apple in Honey
The tray allows for a choice between several types of compositions – one orderly and precise, and the other random and messy. Arranging the apples in a certain way on the tray can make them resemble small boats dipping in a lake of honey. This is undoubtedly a surprising and sophisticated addition to the holiday table.
"Shana Tova" (Happy New Year) Cards
This year, we chose to design cards with a personal blessing (or any other idea you choose and find suitable) on the back of the card.
Examples of using "Shana Tova" cards:
· The host family can prepare blessings in advance for all those seated at the table.
· Involving the family in writing the blessing: for example, each person blesses the one sitting to their right, or writes what they wish for themselves.
We chose a black and white print to allow children to color the card (a nice activity that allows adults quality conversation time in the meantime).
