Tishrei Holidays

In recent years, I've noticed an increasing focus on details in table design. As someone who loves to host, I am a strong believer in the importance of proper table design, which creates a good and relaxed atmosphere among those present. Especially when it comes to the Rosh Hashanah table – the holiday of renewal, the holiday that symbolizes the beginning of a new year, which brings thoughts and hopes for the coming year. A holiday, and indeed a whole month, that inspires us, even the secular among us, to wonder, to reflect, to close our eyes and to bless. To bless what was and to bless what we strive and hope for ourselves to be.

From this, "TISHREY" was born - a Rosh Hashanah plate as a central design element on the table, providing a stage for the holiday blessings.

I invite you to dive into my mind.

The words and concepts that guided me and led me to the final design were….

Plating, flow, movement, air, change, cleanliness, festivity, simplicity, culinary, Judaism, traditional text, list, circles, bubbles (air), blessings.

I envisioned a very clean-looking plate, which leaves the stage for the food symbolizing the holiday blessings.

The material from which the plate is made - renewed Corian, which, of course, comes from the general concept of the studio. But on a deeper level, we too, as human beings, strive to undergo a process of renewal towards the new year, and the parallel with the Corian that undergoes renewal in our studio - connects wonderfully.

The wonderful material properties of Corian brought about the cleanliness, naturalness, festivity, and simplicity I aspired to.

From a culinary perspective, I was interested to see how a product invites plating in a different style, compared to a plate with a very traditional character and serving method. It was important for me to create an arrangement of recesses in different sizes and to allow the user to arrange the symbols of blessings in a way that suits them.

The text is the result of combining a "serif" font, in a traditional style, found in the Haggadah and the Bible, and embedding it as an organized and linear "list," which gave it a more modern character.

All these together led to the final result of the TISHREY plate.

And on this festive note, I wish us all a year of goodness, of sweetness,

A year of endless happiness and love,

A year of conquering all peaks. Even the highest ones...

A year of achievements and successes,

A year of fulfilling dreams. Even the most outlandish ones…

A year of renewal, blossoming, and growth...

And most importantly, as mothers and grandmothers say - health!

So I join them - a year of health for all of us,

Happy Holidays,

From me, Avital
